WORK WITH US
Property Manager / Lifestyle Opportunity at Shiki Stayz
We are seeking the right person—or couple—to join us at Shiki Stayz, a boutique property located at the foot of Mt Hotham in Cobungra.
This is more than a role. It’s an opportunity to call one of Victoria’s most beautiful alpine regions home.
The Opportunity
Set across a peaceful alpine property, Shiki Stayz offers three thoughtfully designed accommodations immersed in nature and the changing seasons.
We are looking for someone to live on-site and take pride in the day-to-day management of the property—ensuring every guest experience reflects the high standard we are known for.
This opportunity would suit a mature, organised individual or couple, and offers:
-
Low-cost or included accommodation
-
Reliable high-speed internet, ideal for remote work or digital nomads
-
A seasonal rhythm that allows for both busy periods and quieter time to reset or travel
-
Day-to-day, self-managed responsibilitiesA unique balance of lifestyle, independence, and purpose
How the Role Works
At its core, this role is centred around guest experience and booking flow.
The rhythm of the role is shaped by:
-
Guest check-ins and check-outs
-
Booking volume and occupancy levels
-
Maintaining a consistently high standard of presentation and service
During peak and shoulder periods—including:
-
June to September (snow season)
-
Christmas and New Year
-
Easter and long weekends…the role requires a more hands-on, responsive presence, with a focus on:
-
Timely property turn around
-
Guest communication and hosting
-
Delivering a seamless and memorable stay
Outside of these times, in low season, the pace naturally shifts.
This allows for:
-
A greater focus on maintenance and property improvements
-
More flexible scheduling and quieter periods
-
The ability to plan time away, with support or coverage arranged where needed
This balance is what makes the opportunity unique—periods of high energy and engagement, paired with space to reset, travel, and work on longer-term projects.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering a consistently high-quality guest experience, while managing the day-to-day operation and presentation of the property.
This includes:
-
Preparing and presenting stays to a high standard
-
Guest communication and hosting
-
Managing arrivals, departures, and property readiness
-
General troubleshooting and maintenance
-
Upkeep of outdoor areas and overall property presentation
Given our regional location and limited access to trades, practical handyman skills and strong problem-solving ability are essential.
Who This Would Suit
We are looking for someone (or a couple) who is:
-
Organised and self-motivated
-
Professionally spoken and presented
-
Comfortable using property management software or apps
-
Practical, capable, and confident with hands-on tasks
-
Warm, professional, and guest-focused
-
Comfortable working independently
-
Respectful of a shared property environment
-
Understanding that the role requires flexibility in peak periods and offers flexibility in quieter times
This opportunity is ideally suited to:
-
A couple seeking a lifestyle change
-
A remote worker or digital professional wanting a scenic, stable base
-
Someone with experience in hospitality, property management, or maintenance
Lifestyle & Location
Cobungra offers a unique alpine lifestyle:
-
Snow season in winter, with mountain biking, hiking, and rivers in summer
-
Close proximity to Mt Hotham, Dinner Plain, and Omeo
-
A peaceful, nature-driven environment
This is a place for those who value space, seasons, and a slower rhythm—while still being connected to the energy of a tourism-driven region.
The Arrangement
We are open to shaping the role around the right person or couple, including:
-
Accommodation as part of the agreement
-
A long-term arrangement for the right fit
-
A flexible structure of responsibilities and hours
Our focus is on finding the right people to build a mutually beneficial living and working relationship.
To Apply
Please email us with a little bit about yourself (or yourselves), your background, and what draws you to this opportunity and lifestyle.
We’re particularly interested in any experience in hospitality, property management, or hands-on maintenance, and in how living and working in a seasonal, guest-focused environment aligns with your goals.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU,
DAVID & LISA
